The Seed

Before the Indy Winter Farmers Market existed, there was only Growing Places Indy, a nonprofit organization that works to bridge the gap between the city community and local farmers. Since this organization was focused on cultivating community and creating access to fresh locally sourced food, Growing Places planted the seed of an idea that would bloom into the Indy Winter Farmers Market in 2008.

Since the Indy Winter Farmers Market’s opening, it has become an essential piece of the city life in Indianapolis. They unite community members with farmers, business owners, and local producers and create an environment where people can come together.

A Growing List of Vendors

When you come here, you’ll find everything from produce and food to gifts and knickknacks. Dozens of vendors come from all over Indiana to supply shoppers with everything they need. Each time you go, you’ll likely find something new, so take a look around and discover something you’ll love!

You could get your caffeine fix from Bee Coffee Roasters and sweeten it up with honey from Wildflower Ridge Honey Company. Maybe you’ll find fish from Wild Alaska Salmon & Seafood, a fun snack from Groomsville Popcorn, or maple syrup from Maplewood Farms LLC.

If you need a skin care product or want to find a thoughtful gift for a friend, you’ll have several vendors to choose from. Wherever you go, you’ll find yourself constantly surrounded by farmers and their fresh produce.

You can even make a day out of your trip to the farmers market and stay for lunch. You’ll have hot food served by several vendors, so grab something to eat at spots like the 3 in 1 Restaurant, The Vegan Cheese Lady, and the Vietnamese Eggroll Bar.
