Technology in Cars in 2019

Every year, technology makes your driving experience better and better. From safety features and connectivity to making simple tasks more convenient, more features are arriving all the time. So, what car technology can you expect this year?

The Andy Mohr Automotive team found out. We explored some of the best technology in cars in 2019 to show drivers in Indianapolis, Plainfield, and Bloomington what’s out there.

Multimedia Center

Toyota Entune? Audio system

A vehicle’s dashboard used to be just the home for the radio dial. Today, your vehicle houses a full multimedia center, and a great example is the Toyota Entune™ Audio system. It features a Bluetooth®-compatible touchscreen display.

This system can do everything from play music from your phone to help make hands-free calls. It also offers voice control with Siri® Eyes Free and hundreds of radio stations for daily entertainment with SiriusXM® Satellite Radio.

Plus, you can even stay connected to your email, social media, and streaming apps wherever you go with the available Wi-Fi Connect Powered by Verizon.

Smartphone Compatibility

Smartphones have revolutionized the world. Whether you use an iPhone or an Android, you can always connect to the internet and find what you’re looking for.

Many auto manufacturers understand that the technology you’re most comfortable with is already in your pocket. So, they decided it makes sense for you to be able to connect it to your car.

Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ allow you to sync your smartphone to your vehicle and access some of your favorite apps. With these features, you can stream your music library, audiobooks, and podcasts through the car’s audio system. You can even navigate to your destination by using Google Maps or Waze. It also allows you to safely communicate with a talk-to-text function.

Plus, these two features are available on dozens of models from some of the most popular manufacturers, including Ford, Honda, Nissan, General Motors, and Volkswagen.

Driver-Assistance Features

Nissan Intelligent Mobility? Technology can also be used to help prevent accidents. Using cameras and sensors, your car or SUV can make you more aware of what’s around your vehicle. That way, you can continue to drive with confidence as you merge on the highway, cruise down a busy freeway, or navigate city streets.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility™ and Ford Co-Pilot 360™ are two of the most advanced systems available today. Both of them features Automatic Emergency Braking, a Rear-View Camera system, and cameras that watch your blind spot. They can even stop you from drifting out of your lane.

Amazon Key-In Car Delivery

To take in-car technology to a new level, Amazon now offers delivery for GMC and Chevrolet vehicles. It’s a great option if you’re at work and don’t want a package sitting on your stoop all day. For no extra charge, Amazon drivers can locate your car, unlock it, and deliver your package.

The Amazon Key-In Car Delivery service is available to anyone with an Amazon Prime Account. Just download the Amazon Key app to your smartphone to get started.
