These sedans both offer you the opportunity to customize your engine power. They both have three available engine options. To get a better idea of what they bring to the table, let’s discuss the power of their available turbocharged options.

The Kia Optima has an available turbocharged 2.0L DOHC engine. It cranks out up to 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Accord, on the other hand, can be equipped with an available turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder engine. It turns out up to 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Both sedans also come with capable transmissions to harness their power. The Honda comes with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The Optima, however, is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and comes with a Sportmatic® sports shifter. It’ll allow you to shift the gears manually whenever you choose, for a more in-tune driving experience.

Interior Amenities

Both vehicles can seat up to five passengers. In the Kia Optima, however, you’ll have just a little bit more room to stretch out, with 39.8 inches of headroom and 45.5 inches of legroom in the front. This is compared to 39.5 inches of headroom and 42.3 inches of legroom in the front of the Honda Accord.

These sedans also have an available 8-inch touchscreen display that will cover all of your entertainment and navigational needs. Plus, you’ll have the added connectivity of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration, so that you can keep up with all of your favorite apps and music.

When it comes to keeping you comfortable, you’ll have an available dual-zone automatic climate control system with the Kia Optima and the Honda Accord. If you’d like to personalize your comfort even further, they also both have driver’s seats with 12-way power adjustment and 4-way power lumbar support.

Innovative Safety

The Kia Optima and Honda Accord have advanced safety features that are designed to give you more confidence behind the wheel.

The Kia Drive Wise has features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). There’s also the Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS) which can detect road hazards ahead in certain situations. You’ll get audible and visual alerts when it detects a potential hazard. The system may even apply the brakes to help reduce the effects of a possible impact.

The Honda Accord, on the other hand, comes with Honda Sensing®. This suite of safety features is equipped with technologies similar to that of the Kia Drive Wise system.
