There are ways of keeping tabs on your vehicle’s oil life and the easiest way is through manual inspection. When you do, you’re going to be looking for oil that has a translucent amber color with little to no particles floating through it. When you notice it isn’t this kind of quality, bring it in for service.

That’s why you want to make sure your tires are rotated regularly; a rule of thumb suggests doing this every six months or whenever you stop in for an oil change. As you drive over different kinds of terrain, you’ll want to make sure that it isn’t causing a negative effect on your tires.

There’s a simple test to check whether your tires are up to snuff. It’s called the quarter test. You take any old American quarter and place it with Washington’s head down. If Washington’s head completely disappears, then your tires are still in good shape. If it doesn’t, then that means your tire treads have worn away significantly and either a rotation or replacement is needed.
